At Cornish Chillies, our mission is to cultivate the finest, sustainably grown chillies while celebrating the vibrant flavours and rich diversity they bring to every dish. Rooted in the heart of Cornwall, we are committed to using organic methods, supporting our local community, and inspiring a passion for healthy, creative cooking. 2014
The Beginning
Cornish Chillies was born in the heart of the Cornish countryside at Summercourt, midway between Newquay and Truro. What began as a passion project with just a few hundred chilli plants quickly captured the imagination of locals and visitors alike. Scott Hall, along with co-founder Rachel, set out to grow unique and flavourful varieties that could inspire home cooks and professional chefs.

2016
Growing Strong
After two successful years, Cornish Chillies began to flourish. With Rachel moving on to new adventures, Scott’s wife Sue joined the business, bringing her organisational skills and creative vision. Together, they expanded their growing operation and began introducing more chilli varieties to meet the needs of an ever-growing customer base.

2019
A Cornish Staple
By 2019, Cornish Chillies had established itself as a cornerstone of the local food community. With over 40 varieties of chillies, Scott and Sue worked closely with local chefs, restaurants, and food producers, earning a reputation for both quality and sustainability. Their vibrant market stalls became a must-visit for food lovers across Cornwall.

2023
Building for the Future
Cornish Chillies took a bold step forward, securing a new site at the Trewithen Estate to create a purpose-built growing and production facility. This move marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter, with plans to expand operations, host educational tours, and create unique culinary experiences for chilli enthusiasts from near and far.
