In terms of flavour and heat, it offers a pungent, sharp spiciness similar to red cayenne peppers, but with a slightly fruitier undertone. On the Scoville scale, it averages around 35,000 SHU (Scoville Heat Units), placing it in the medium-to-hot range — enough to deliver a noticeable kick without overwhelming most chili lovers.

These peppers are often used fresh, dried, or powdered, adding both colour and heat to dishes, and they also make striking ornamental plants in the garden.
