Description
Made with Jamaican chillies this sweet, ginger and fruity sauce is one of our range of sauces which celebrates Cornish connections around the world. With a good heat it is great with stir fries, noodles, risottos, salads and even ice cream. It recalls and celebrates Cornish miners, Methodists and their families who worked and supported the poor and disadvantaged throughout the Caribbean during the 18th and 19th centuries; a province of Jamaica is called Cornwall. It also recalls the famous Cornish pirate and scallywag Thomas Anstis who raided the shipping in the area.

My partner and I went to Cornwall for our holiday when we came across Cornish Chillies little market stall. We tried all the sauces they had. All their sauces are beautifully made and very favorably taste but the one that caught mine and my partner’s was Jamaican Gold, with its spicy yellow scotch bonnet and a sweet taste left on your tongue. It should have been called Jamaican’s liquid gold as it goes with just about anything! (Including a cheeky Cornish pasty)
My partner and I do love this spicy sauce and think it was a shame we didn’t pick up more while we were there. Will definitely buy more next time we are in Cornwall or via this website
